I'm done! Better luck next time. Patxi Usobiaga from Spain who has been the World Cup Champion a couple of times has said Climbing can be the most frustrating because all the training is lost with one tiny slip of the foot. I am mentioning this because ironically this happen to me onthe 3rd route. I was at the last hold already and my foot slipped of the tiny foot hold.
Patxi mention this in the latest Rock Climbing video 2009 entitled PROGRESSION by BIG UP Productions. AWESOME CLIMBING VIDEO I tell ya. HIGHLY Recommended to watch.

Mua lookin at da previous route which I just climbed! I could have finished this route but I didn't try again. I was already holding the last hold but my leg slipped off the super tiny foot hold! Better luck next time I guess. If I had finished this route.. I would have been in the SEMI FINALS!!!

You know when I started diving, I really didn't care what kinda accommodation I'd stay in. I'll just rough it out with friends. But I gotta admit that now I need to stay in a resonably nice place on a diving trip. I have a good reason for that though because after a long day and 3 - 5 dives a day I'd really like a nice comfortable place to relax after that. So i'm willing to save money and go for a nice trip rather than go on a super budget trip and rough it out.

I gotta say that Bali is freakin awesome! I would love to go back there again. Sad to say we didn't get to see the Mola Mola a.k.a. Ocean Sun fish this time at Nusa Penida but We'll definitely make another trip to look for them and brave the cold waters :D Seriously people.. Diving 18 degress is really not fun at all :0 What a great trip overall I'd say :D I think it'll be so fun to come back with a bunch of friends :D

I gotta say that my first day diving at Liberty Wreck is truly memorable. So many critters to see and loads of different kinds of marine life. Its a good thing we dived the wreck after Nusa Penida coz the water here is so much warmer. Haha! Accomodation is pretty sweet I'd say. More pictures to come!

BALI DIVING AT NUSA PENIDA - OCTOBER 2009

We managed to see 3 huge Manta Rays just swimming on the surface at Manta Point. I managed to take a picture of the Manta's fin before we jumped into the water. Sad to say though while we were underwater we could not find them. Reason was they were hanging out to close to the rocks and we could not get any closer to the rocks to look for them because of the strong surge we encountered. When we came back up onto the boat we saw them right where we left them. Its okay I guess I'll have to come back but I think I'll rather head to the Similan Islands again or Richelieu Rock to see Manta's because the water is much much warmer.. hehe =P I'm still happy though =)

This arch reminds me so much of Chris Sharma's KING LINES Deep Water Solo route which he climbed and finished in Mallorca, Spain. He set the grade 9b / 5.15B. So far unrepeated. Chris Sharma is the best Rock Climber in the world by da way =P

This dive by the way was our sixth dive in Nusa Penida and it was also the COLDEST.. 18 Degrees man! Freakin damn cold! I was so cold I could not take a decent picture of this beautiful Nudibranch.

Blue Season Bali is offcially the best looking Dive Centre I have ever seen so far and with the most staff. Its unbelievable how many Dive Instructors and Dive Masters they have there. Beautiful I tell ya!

We had some good fortune throughout our dive trip in Bali. We got to see so many different kinds of marine life. We didn't get to see our Mola Mola though so perhaps next time.

I have to say that diving in Nusa Penida is pretty challenging and Super Cold. On average its like 23 - 24 degrees. Our sixth dive at Crystal Bay was 18 degrees. That was no joke. I was out of the water in 24 minutes and after half an hour everyone else was out of the water! Its a great experience but I'll definitely go back there just to look for the Mola Mola's but with a much thicker wetsuit =)

ALAIN ROBERTS A.K.A. SPIDERMAN FINALLY TOPS PETRONAS TWIN TOWERS

French Climber Alain Roberts a.k.a Spiderman finally completes and accomplishes Petronas Twin Towers in our city of Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. His first attempt was in March 20, 1997 in which law enforcement stopped him at the 60th floor where there's a ledge for him to get inside easily and he did. 10 Years later on the same date 20th March, 2007 Alain Roberts second attempt to climb KLCC had come to an end again when law enforcements got tipped off and again stopped him on the 60th floor. By then I was wondering when will he be coming back and hope I'd be ready to catch a glimpse of him as I am a huge fan.

But this time he surprised everyone. Sneeky Alain Roberts came to Kuala Lumpur again and on the 1st of September, 2009 he begun his climb at around 5 something in the morning. Because he started climbing so early it was dark and managed to climb most of the way unnoticed. And there the man who failed twice to climb our twin towers finally achieved his Dream. Climbing and finishing KLCC was Alain Roberts Dream for many years. I didn't think he would climb right to the very top where the small ball is. Its crazy! Its funny how we all see the Malaysian Special Forces come in a chopper to get him at the top with all the best safety equipment in the world and there you see Alain Roberts standing right at the top of the ball with his hands in the air and without any safety waving our Malaysian Flag.. Unbelivable :D

I just can't wait for another airshow after this one coz the sound of the Fighter Jets are freakin awesome! LIMA in Langkawi is in December 2009. I hope I can make a trip for that one because LIMA is a full air show with loads of other Jets and perhaps choppers. The skills that the United States Air Force pilots demonstrated with their awesome F-16's Fighter Jets could not be any more perfect than they were. And with each stunt they perform, they have different songs to fit the stunt. How cool is that! Oh.. and trust me their music selection is superb. They just know how to entertain people really. They take that much effort to show the world how good they really are. I hope they make this a yearly thing as I look forward for more action! I wanna be a Fighter Pilot now!

MY DIVE MASTER & INSTRUCTORS FROM SIMILAN ISLANDS, THAILAND BACK IN KL TO VISIT ME

Church enjoying his Nasi Kandar. He just could not stop eating coz it was good. I always bring my guest for some good local food while they visit me.

I brought both of them to eat some awesome Hokkien Mee and Wan Tan Hor at Jalan Imbi. They love Asian food. They have travelled so much and lived in Bali and Thailand for so long that asian food is just part of their daily meals now.

Myself and ATSY are so happy because Church and RH scheduled their trips just so they could come back to KL and see us for the second time before heading back to Austria. This time around I offered them to stay with me and so they did. We had a great time eating our local food and catching up on all our adventures.

They are deciding where their next location is gonna be for more Diving. Its gonna be in Asia I think coz they love it and Bali sounds like a winner at the moment because before they came to KL, They were holidaying in BALI for almost 5 months! They know Bali pretty well now I tell ya and they did so much Diving there I think they know each and every dive sites by now. Miss them already! Hope to go Diving with them soon.

How did I know he was at Sunway Pyramid.. well just so happen I was headed to Subang and I heard on radio that he was there to meet the fans and to promote his Never Drink and Drive campaign for Johnny Walker as he is one of the Ambassadors.

UNBELIEVABLE! This year I have received the most THANK YOU Wishes ever! I was facebooking almost the whole day to thank everyone for their warm & kind Birthday wishes! I even got wishes from my friends who are overseas who I don't see so often.

Its an amazing feeling to have had all of you whom I know to wish me on this special day of mine! I also dropped by MadMonkeyz Bouldering gym at Wangsa Maju for a short while to surprise all the staff & my fellow climber friends with some delicious CUPCAKES from Pavilion Shopping Mall :D Glad you all enjoyed the cupcakes! Its really good I have to say. I also managed to do a lil Bouldering with them & I'm extremely happy I managed to finish some Awesome route which Guy set for all of us! It was an awesome feeling to finish that route considering I had such a tough time getting to the 3rd hand hold =0 Such a cool technical route at the start & power at the end I tell ya. I need to work on my flexibility more from now onwards after that route! Thanks for the awesome route Guy!

After climbing a lil.. I went home.. shower & went out with ATSY for some quiet time having some Wicked Marshroom Soup at Delicious Bangsar Village 2, Strawberry CHeese cake & Good Day Ice Coffee!

It was trully an amazing Birthday eventhough it was a weekday. I'd like to thank everyone yet again who wished me & I'll never forget it :D

BOULDERING DEMO NEXT TO DAMAI WALL, BATU CAVES

Its been a while since I last posted up a climbing picture of myself. Its been so much of Diving recently.. hehe! Well this was a fun event. Besides a Rock Climbing competition for Novice climbers at Damai wall, Batu Caves, there was some cool base jumping events as well. Our Bouldering demo was just extra & perhaps for exposure for rock climbing in general. Anyway.. in the picture I was in launching position. Its a good demo coz I got a free 10 entry pass for MadMonkeyz Bouldering gym at Wangsa Maju :D

SIPADAN ISLAND - THE FAMOUS BARRACUDA POINT DIVE SITE

The ULTIMATE 50m High BARRACUDA VORTEX. I still can't believe it. We saw the Vortex twice. I have to say our group were extremely lucky coz we had great weather, excellent visibility on all our dives in Sipadan with an estimated 50 - 60 m clear blue water & we had just about everything else we wanted to see there on that day.

And the best part is its my first time to Sipadan Island and I got to see the famous Barracuda Vortex. Unbelivable! One of the instructors with us has been to Sipadan 8 times before this trip and didn't get to see the vortex. Finally on this day with the rest of us Divers he saw the vortex! You know who you are if you're reading this :D. I'm sure it must have felt great.

First dive early in the morning & our 3rd Dive. This vortex was way larger than the morning one. The morning vortex was about 20-25m high & that to me was like WOW! It was also a much more organized one. The barracudas were swimming more of a circular motion rather than the larger one we saw on our 3rd dive. This large vortex they were a lil off formation. But still it was like a wall of barracudas. They were like in the Thousonds! You have to see it to believe it! It is my best Dive to date!

This was the first time I saw the famous & Awesome BARRACUDA VORTEX! I can't believe we saw it. Our group are so lucky to see this vortex. Perfect Visibility! Its a medium size one this one about 20m high. Even then I was like OMG!!! This is like the best Diving experience I've had to date since I started Diving! But you already know that I saw the ULTIMATE 50m HIGH BARRACUDA VORTEX which beats this one. Its crazy that we saw the Vortex twice.

This was my first time seeing the ever popular ORANG UTAN CRAB. It was chilling in the bubble corals. Because they are very hairy fellas it also makes our cameras very hard to focus on them. I'm still happy I got a shot of it & seeing it was unbelievable!

The very colourful PEACOCK MANTIS SHRIMP. They also have a very strong punch. Divers please be aware that they punch can break an Aquarium glass & the their punch travels at the speed of Hand Gun Bullet fired from a 9mm hand gun. Their punch is so fast that it also sends shock waves after the punch has been delivered. So underwater photographers please don't get so close aight!

This was a full grown CUTTLEFISH. Look at those amazing colours! As I get closer to it, it starts changing to all sorts of colours to evade itself from us Divers. They can be curious. Visibility was good on this dive so this cuttlefish really stood out underneath the sunlight. Cuttlefish are really smart & beautiful creatures. The look like aliens! Ohh and I have to say that their Buoyancy is excellent!

This is my second favorite Nudibranch called the THECACERA Nudibranch. Also known as PIKACHU =P I still can't believe I saw it!!! It has the Bunny Ears but not as long as the other THECACERA Nudie with much longer bunny ears with more patterns on it. Nevertheless, this is one of the top fav Nudibranches among Divers & I'm so lucky to see one! Its Beautiful! I love Nudibranches so for me to see this one its already a great moment for me.

I could not ask for more. Staying here was the right choice & it was truly relaxing. What makes it even better is that our Balcony was facing the Sunset :D Every evening before dinner we get to appreciate the beautiful Sunset before our eyes. You'll see what I mean after this. And because Sipadan Water Village Water Chalet's are so far spread out, it makes it feel like you're vacationing all by yourselves. Thankfully our Chalet was located just behind the Dive centre or else we will have to wake up much earlier to walk. And believe me, if you're located at the last few chalet's its a damn long walk!

2009 WIMBLEDON CHAMPION & THE LEGEND OF ALL LEGENDS WITH 16 GRAND SLAM TITLES & WORLD NUMBER 1 AGAIN ROGER FEDERER

This was an UNBELIEVABLE 2009 Wimbledon final. Roger Federer once again World Number 1 & now has beaten Pete Sampras record of 14 Grand Slams. He's a great champion as everyone has already been mentioning for the longest time. But this year really is a fantastic year for Roger because he finally won Roland Garros, his 6th Wimbledon title & he's gonna have a kid!

I have to say that ANDY RODDICK made Roger push himself to the limit for the title. Roddick's game definitely has improved a whole lot. Much credit to Andy Roddick.

With Wimbledon Legends such as Pete Sampras who particularly flew down just to watch Federer make History in Tennis, Bjorn Borg & Rod Laver watching intently from the Royal Box, ROGER Federer proved to them that he is the man today whose gonna re-write the Tennis History Books. Thats incredible! What an Epic final & Congratulations to you Roger FEDERER. I've said this before & I'll say it again that Roger Federer is the Legend of all LEGENDS!

Added note : Now that ROGER FEDERER has just made HISTORY today the 7th of June, 2009 by Winning the FRENCH OPEN, EQUALLING Pete Sampras with 14 GRAND SLAM TITLES, WINNING ALL FOUR of the GRAND SLAMS, I feel truly honored to have been able to take a picture with him.

I still can't believe I managed to meet the man himself Roger Federer. Currently world number 2 in the rankings, he was down in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia in November 2008 for an exhibition tournament with US players James Blake, Borg & John McEnroe. Federer beat Blake in case you all are wondering. Federer's a cool guy. He thanked the 5 of us who were waiting to meet him for all our support for him after taking pictures & signing autographs. He's freaking tall as well. I think he is 6 feet 2 inches. I'm like 5' 7. As you can see in the picture Federer had to bring his head lower for me to get a shot with him.

After meeting Blake on the courts I went for lunch & headed back to Mandarin Oriental hoping to meet Federer. I didn't think I was gonna be this lucky. I have to thank these 2 kids who told me to wait for a short while because he was having lunch somewhere in the hotel. These kids were waiting since morning till like 3pm for Federer to show up.

Because I am a fan of Roger Federer, I originally woke up in the morning to go KLCC for the official meet and greet session with the tennis great. After 45 minutes lining up with my mom, we were so close to the front when the dumb bouncers decided to open the barriers to everyone. Fans obviously rushed to the front and kept pushing until the cops had no choice but to say no more autographs with the star. In the end everyone didn't get any chance to meet him because of this incident. That's when I decided to head to Mandarin Oriental Hotel to meet him because I had some inside information that he was gonna be there having lunch after KLCC's session.

So for those of you who rushed to the front without waiting in line, too bad you didn't get to meet him or even get his autograph!

With a NIKON D70S, I was able to freeze KIMI Raikkonen and his car passing everyone in a split second. After 33 laps the race unfortunately had to be stopped for safety reasons due to heavy rain during this 2009 Formula One Malaysian Grand Prix. I am sure KIMI Raikonen can get back his rhythm soon. He has way more experience than so many other drivers and after all he is a Formula One Champion!

I happen to be awake very early in the morning & noticed the weather was pretty good so I had an opportunity to take a mirror image of KLCC. So I went down to the pool side in my pajamas to take a picture. I had to wait for the right moment because there was some breeze & the pool water had ripples. Quite challenging this one. No one will be able to take this picture again probably by the end of 2009 or 2010 because there's gonna be a new Condominium coming up right where KLCC is in the picture so this picture is much more valuable than you might think!

I can't remember the name of this Building at the moment but this place was quite far out of Madrid City itself. I found this corridor facinating so decided to snap a picture. Had to wait until there was no one in the way. The repeating patterns is what caught my attention. With lots of natural light was I able to capture this image.

The beautiful Boutique Hotels in Sevilla, Spain are located in the middle of the city. It may look dark but tones of tourist walk through these narrow alleys to get to pubs, restaurant's, Flamenco Dance theaters & their accommodations. Its like a maze walking through these alleys I tell ya. These alleys are sometimes so narrow that when a car comes through.. anyone in the way will have to walk faster to find the nearest curb to stand on until the car passes through =)

Reflection of an Orchid flower. Perfect evening. Just after an afternoon of heavy rain, I was visiting my grand untie & knowing that she has lotsa Orchids & other flowers in her garden I quickly took out my G10. After looking carefully for about almost 20 minutes I found this drops of rain water with the Orchid's reflection on it. Oh.. If u look even closer, you can actually see my reflection as well.. What a great moment!

I personally emailed the FAMOUS LEGENDARY Marine Biologist / Author NEVILLE COLEMAN - Photo Journalist to ask about this particular species of boxfish because I knew it was different. And he actually replied my email saying my image is the first to be recorded of this species at such a small stage.. I mean WOW!!! Coming from the Legendary Neville Coleman himself!!! It is an email I'll treasure most :D

Neville Coleman told me in his reply that this RARE WHITE Boxfish is younger than a Juvenile Yellow Boxfish and said perhaps Yellow Boxfishes are probably White when they are born.. Myself and my gf were so lucky! A moment I'll alwiz remember! Credit to ATSY of cause because she saw this cute rare White Boxfish & when we got back she asked me to email NEVILLE COLEMAN Immediately!!! OMG.. Still can't believe it!!! WooHoo!!!

An Experience

On February 27th, 2009 I was given an opportunity to become Sound & Lights Manager for The Malaysian International Dance Championship (Open to the World) held at Genting Highlands City of Entertainment.

Me as Sound & Lights manager for World Class Ballroom & Latin Dancing.. what the? I know nothing about that. On that day I found out I needed to focus more on the sound part rather than lights. My job was to play the right songs for every single event from 9am till 00:30am. So intense I tell ya coz you can't make a mistake especially for the main event where all the International dancers perform. We have the song list though but you gotta be really organized.

The top 10 Ballroom & Latin dancers in the world were present except the world no. 1 latin couple. The no. 2 in the world latin dancers won that nights dance championship. They are so darn good you have no idea. And because I had an ALL EXCESS pass, I managed to go right up to the dance floor to take pictures while they were performing. Guys, if you think you are Man, trust me they are more man than us. The No. 2 in the world male dancer is freakin Macho! He's got style on the dance floor and even in coffee bean the night before the event. Those fellas have got style wherever they are yo. Coffee Bean the fella is like wearing Armani and other brands from head to toe. Women dancers Sexy as hell! No words can describe it. We Malaysians have got a lot of catching up to do in terms of fashion & style.

I managed to get through the main event without making a mistake by playing the wrong music. I did everything on time & played the right song for the right dance at the right time. I have to give myself a lot of credit on this one coz really I could not go anywhere out of the sound booth for like 18 hours straight.

But I also have to thank ATSY & her dad coz they stood by me to make sure I don't make a mistake and that I understood everything that has to be done as Sound manager. ATSY's dad has lotsa experience in organizing large events like this one so its a good thing to have one of the main Organizers / Stage Manager to help me get through the event. Special thanks to ATSY for giving me this opportunity to participate in such a huge event. Can you believe what would have happen to me if I had played the Waltz if they were gonna dance the Samba or the Cha Cha Cha song for a PasoDoble dance on NATIONAL TV / Astro?

Macro shot of this Criket was interesting coz as I got closer, its antennas started to move and feel my camera lens. Then I knew it was time to take the shot. Posing for me so was pretty easy. This was at the Butterfly Park at Lake Gardens Kuala Lumpur.

Out Of The Blue

Everyday it has been raining heavily in KL. Gloomy day from morning till the sun goes down. And today is just like any other rainy and gloomy day but with something special this evening. It was drizzling and was walking to San Francisco Coffee in Ampang Point Mall. Just few metres from getting out the car I looked up and saw this chunk of Clouds lit up by the sun directly behind it. The surroundings were all gloomy & drizzling. Amazing!

Sunrise @ 35000 ft. Above Sea Level

When I left London's Heathrow International Airport it was dark. After couple of hours on board I decided to open the window shade and there I saw this amazing sunrise. We were so high up that the clouds below our plane appeared like a carpet. Flying with British Airways had been a pleasant flight.

Radio City Music Hall In New York City

I had a great opportunity to be here in New York City and for me to get this picture is awesome. Why I say awesome is because its really not that easy to take a picture across any street with no cars in front of you. NYC's streets are packed with cars especially cabs. Well I had to wait for sometime though to get this shot. Its was in the evening just before sunset.

Eggs Benedict

So this was actually in New York City at a restaurant near Brooklyn Bridge. This is its speciality dish for breakfast. Its amazing how hungry you get with cool weather. I had a lot of walking to do so I needed a heavy meal for energy & this was perfect. Salmon on top of the eggs.. mMmmm!

Anyway I took this picture not only because it looks good but because at that moment i had this opportunity to take a picture with the sun light shining specifically on my two eggs. I know that sounds wrong but its the only way to describe it. The sun was shining through the glass windows and no where else but on the eggs on my plate. I had to take a picture coz I thought it was unique. Great moment really.

Underwater Housing Canon PowerShot G10

Finally I have my new underwater housing. The G10's housing is so much larger than my previous Ixus. I shall do one more test to be sure there's no leak. I'm a lil bit cautious now coz I've already lost one camera and its underwater housing.
I look forward to take more macro marine life on my upcoming dive trip.

Dragonfly Side View

I have to say when you take a dragonfly close up, their color really stands out which makes them great insects to take pictures of. The first picture I took from the front view you can see that it looks brown but this picture however the red stands out more due to sun light. Its amazing how the effects show when you take pictures from various angles. I love macro shots.

This dragonfly was so still and I could see that it was looking right at my camera lens probably thinking how much closer I was trying to get. This was also taken in the Butterfly Park at Lake Farm Kuala Lumpur on Valentines Day. I must say it was a different activity.

Butterfly That Roars Like A Tiger

This was taken at the butterfly park at Lake Gardens Kuala Lumpur. Myself and ATSY decided to be tourist at our own city. I had to climb up this narrow edge and ATSY had to hold my back so I don't fall backwards. All for this beautiful tiger colored butterfly.

This is inside Gardens shopping mall. The coned shaped ceiling makes it different from other malls around KL. Again with my Canon PowerShot G10 camera I'm able to stand directly below and snap this picture because of its superd wide angle lens.

I absolutely love this picture of mine. This is a bird's eye view of the centre court inside Suria KLCC from the top level. I was there for lunch with ATSY and while walking around I noticed a picture opportunity. I managed to get this picture because of my Canon PowerShot G10 and its wicked wide angle lens. Canon did a good job for the latest G-series. At the centre court Emporio Armani was promoting their new fragrance called Diamonds.

Two Million Dollar Home Crumpler

My latest collection of crumpler for my Canon PowerShot G10 camera. Its a perfect size & now its easier for me to carry around. It even fits my extra wide angle lens with its adapter. Crumpler's are are cool but their prices should be a lil lower.

Hot Climbing Competition (Really HOT)

I participated in a small climbing competition yesterday just a week after a bigger competiton in Singapore's Climb Asia. I'm quite happy getting 6th place considering I was competiting with the best rock climbers in Malaysia. It was a small competition held at Dataran Merdeka a.k.a. Merdeka Square and yet the best climbers were there to compete with each other and have some fun. Most of us know each other since the climbing community in Malaysia is small compared to other countries and has yet to be established. I'm happy with my top 10 result.. Haha!

So back to the topic on the REALLY HOT climbing competition. I say hot because we climbers were in the sun for 6 and a half hours without cold drinks. Even 7 11 had no cold drinks.. wtf! I also didn't have enough sleep the night before so my day was much more intense.

It was a good comp though and thats what matters most to me.

Largest Of Them Cats - Siberian Tigers

AHHHHHHHH!

Beautiful animals to admirer especially when they show some of their character. The Siberian tigers are larger than warm climate tigers because having such large bodies helps them conserve heat much more efficiently than a small body.

So these fellas are just chilling out on a sunny day which is why we had no trouble taking great pictures of them. Look at the lioness stoning with her tougue sticking out. She even sleeps with her tougue sticking out. The lions are the 2nd largest cats as u all may already know.

Jaguar

Among the wild cats I like this one the most. The Jaguars are the 3rd largest cat in the world. With pure muscle these fellas are able to carry their kill twice their size up a tree so no other wild cats can interrupt its meal. They are slick, perfect camouflaged and definitely an ultimate predator.

Can You Spot The Rare Baboon

Top left is an extremely rare Baboon. I have never seen anything like it. It just arrived at the Singapore Zoo. Myself and ATSY were so lucky to be there to witness this type of baboon. His character is so different from the common baboons. He acts weird and definitely looks weird but we're happy to see one. Its new in the zoo so I guess it will take some time to adjust to its new environment.

The other baboons however with their big fat pinkish red ass are extremely violent fellas. You wouldn't wanna be inside their enclosure for sure. They are freaking loud animals I tell ya and the large ones are obviously the dominant ones. With such fierce character you can see for yourself that they show their power towards the other baboons.

While we took some time to admire these animals it just kinda felt damn prehistoric. These fellas has been around for the longest time and this Singapore Zoo has four of them. Its quite a collection & in fact they look very healthy. All the animals here are very well fed I tell ya but thats how it should be.
